Halloween is a real treat!

Since Halloween is right around the corner I thought I would dedicate this post to the scary holiday. I know most people will be going as Michael Jackson or Amy Winehouse, but I think that I will go a different route.

As everyone knows, as the Halloweens pass by so do the class of the female Halloween costumes, and I do not know how many times I can hear " it's the one night a year a girl can be as slutty as they want to be". Now, when it comes to my own personal preference of how slutty I want to be I am at the very low end of the spectrum. Don't get me wrong, if you are female and you choose to skank it up go right ahead, but me dressing up like a naughty nurse or sexy lady bug just isn't the look I am going for.

Last year like many other girls I dressed up as one of America's iconic leaders, Sarah Palin (totally joking about her being a leader). Easiest costume: pencil skirt, button up shirt, beauty queen sash that said Ms. Alaska/ Maverick for life, and a tiara. And Tom went as Vice First Dude: red tie, suite, unshaved face.

This year we decided that we would go through our closets and see what we could find that would be fun. Since I have been dancing for a long time I had many costumes already, including my 11th grade tap costume. Go figure a flapper dress with the works.

Black dress, long gloves, black heels, feather headband, etc. Lucky me that Tom wanted to be a mobster. Now we will both look good and be warm for the evening! Mission Accomplished!!!

Well I hope everyone has a fun Halloween and doesn't party too hard, and doesn't eat too much candy : ]

C is for Cookie... Deal With It

Hey all! Hope that this week flew by, and are all excited for another fun weekend. With plans of:

- finding a few more things for my Halloween costume (a flapper, go figure),
- buying tickets to the Museum of Sciences Harry Potter Exhibit(oh you heard me right folks)
- getting my butt kicked in 3 hours of dance practice on Sunday

Since I have so many psych tests coming up, it feels like I have been doing nothing but studying and working on case studies. But today while I was at work I found this photographer from Ireland who did a project on mental health.

I like the photos were done because it shows real people, no stick skinny model trying to sell something. But also not letting the person be the focal point. I find psychology so fascinating because when I am presented with a case, it's like playing a game of Clue. All of the pieces are right in front of you, but it takes awhile for you to fully understand how they all connect.

Let's just hope I still have this outlook after I complete all of the work that is in my near future.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

P.s I just recently found out that the Cookie Monster from Sesame St. does not eat cookies as much because of childhood obesity... Screw you moms who do not know how to portion control. Cookie Monster, do not be controlled by this, you eat your cookies and you be proud of the fact.

Any Thoughts?

Comfy Socks and Cocoa

Since it is Autumn in New England, of course this coming weekend it is going to be none stop rain. Kind of cuts down the things that will be fun to do over the weekend. As of now it looks like a weekend full of warm soup/ hot chocolate, big blankets, and fuzzy ridiculous looking fuzzy socks.

Goodbye fun fall, and hello drizzly-fridged cold fall.

Well I hope that everyone has a warm weekend, and snuggle up and veg out.

In a New York State of Mind

I just recently watched the first season of Mad Men, and I am hooked to another show. Some one needs to throw a Mad Men themed party up in here.

Red Lipstick + Classy = Fun Times

Have a good long weekend : ]

Fall At Fenway

Hello There!

It finally feels like Fall today, in a way it is refreshing. I love when the leaves start to change color, and you drink more apple cider than you do water, and big cozy blankets with hot chocolate.

I think this weekend, for the part of it that is nice out I am going to go check out some of the museums, go bowling, plus the breast cancer walk. Everyone that has Sunday morning free and are in the area should do this walk. I did it last year, and it is very uplifting and you would not imagine so many breast cancer survivors from just the south shore. It is incredible, so I strongly urge anyone to go. I mean its only taking two hours out of your morning, mostly all of the walkers are done by noon.

Other news: my family just got an 8 week old female Spring Spaniel. Roxie, our previous canine family member past away the beginning of May. I can not wait to see pictures, let alone spoil the crap out of her. My brother named her, Brady (hint hint he is a huge New England Patriots fan... he knows everything about anything that happened to that team.)

I will post pictures as soon as my parents stop with holding adorable information.

Other than that, have a fun weekend : ]
